Being Mollywood's first release this year, there's a lot riding on director Binu S' Style. While it lacks actors from the A-list, both Unni Mukundan and Tovino Thomas have expanded their fan base over the past two years to carry a project. And, they do not disappoint.
The film follows the life of Tom, an engineer-turned-car modifier, his family and friends. The first half is dedicated to the budding romance between Tom (Unni) and Diya (Priya). During one of those scenes, Diya accidentally hits the car of the antagonist Edgar Pinto (Tovino). This results in a tussle between the men and an ensuing cat-and-mouse game completes the plot.
That an accident can propel the movie would seem silly, but Edgar's affection for his car, a vintage Ford Mustang, is brilliantly portrayed by Tovino. Unni looks tentative in his lover boy role, but shifts up a gear (no pun intended) during the action scenes. His physique and gritty expressions makes over-the-top stunts believable. Style proves that he is improving with every film.
